In a momentous occasion led by the esteemed Ms. Krystal Tecson-Garalde, the visionary CEO of Dear Self Aesthetic and Wellness Center, the team came together in a heartfelt and intimate gathering to mark the grand opening of the brand's remarkable 10th clinic.
Ms. Vivien Tecson-Cadivida, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of DS, graciously extended a warm welcome to all the attendees. Ever since I embarked on my journey as a beauty and fashion blogger, my vanity has become a treasure trove of various beauty and skin care products. The use of sunscreen has a very straightforward purpose for me: to prevent my skin from becoming damaged by the sun. Because I think that damage from the sun is the primary source of early wrinkles and dark spots, especially on those of us Asian women, I try to stay out of the sun as much as possible.
If you read my previous post about Fairy Skin Premium Brightening Sunscreen, you'll know that I've been going through a sunscreen craze recently. For a good number of years, the only time I put on sunscreen was before going outside for extended periods of time, such as when I went to the beach or went hiking. Even when I'm at home, I protect my face from the sun by applying sunscreen.
My concern about developing hyperpigmentation, also known as dark sun spots, led me to conduct an intensive search for the most effective sunscreen products currently on the market. In the past, I always assumed that a higher SPF meant greater protection and a lower risk of sunburn for me. Despite the fact that this is partly true, I now have more options to consider when purchasing sunscreen.
These days, there are a lot of new sunscreen products on the market, and it's getting pretty crowded. My feeds on Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram have shown me a variety of different sunscreen and sun protection products. It's hard to say what will work for me because there are so many possibilities.
I began using a sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or higher. Since then, I've experimented with sunscreens with an SPF of both 50 and 100, even though I am aware that the latter does not offer a protection level that is as high as 50. Because the difference is insignificant, you must continue to reapply the product at the same time intervals every two hours.
In addition, I learned that there are two distinct types of sunscreen: chemical sunscreen and mineral sunscreen. These two categories are very important considerations to make when deciding what is best for you.
Chemical sunscreens contain oxybenzone and avobenzone. Wait 15 minutes before sun exposure for this sunscreen to absorb. You can get it as a lotion, spray, or stick at the drugstore or beauty store. Chemical sunscreens absorb quickly, so there is no white cast or rubbing. Keep cautious because chemical sunscreen components may be harmful when absorbed into the skin. Take your time to research the claim.
Because of this, I need to be mindful of the ingredients in any sunscreen that I apply to my face so that I may select the most effective one. Both Fairy Skin and Shiro are currently at the top of my list when it comes to my favorite sunscreens. Why? because they are both made of mineral ingredients.
In order to protect your skin from the sun, you should use a mineral sunscreen, also called a physical sunscreen, which sits on top of your skin and produces a protective layer that reflects the sun's rays. Mineral sunscreen is convenient because you don't have to wait 15 minutes before going outside, so you can use it as a primer and/or makeup foundation.
Mineral sunscreens, such as the one offered by Shiro Skin Care, are safe for use on coral reefs. Going to the beach while wearing a sunscreen that contains xybenzone and octinoxate is detrimental to the health of our marine life and should be avoided at all costs. This Shiro Whitening Sunscreen is a fantastic choice for people who have sensitive skin because it lays on top of the skin.
As previously said, I alternated between using Fairy Skin and Shiro sunscreens on my face. I'm not a cosmetics enthusiast, but I'm not willing to have a white cast on my face. SHIRO WHITENING SUNSCREEN has an SPF of 50, does not leave a white cast, is non-greasy, and works wonderfully under foundation. I already said that most sunscreens are meant to be reapplied every 2 hours. I work online from home, so even if I'm not exposed to the sun's rays, I'm still exposed to the lights at home and the radiation from computers, which can also damage your skin.
In the end, sunscreen is about keeping your skin safe. If you don't like putting sunscreen on your face, try adding it to your routine slowly. In my case, I wanted to highlight the things that are important to me in a sunscreen. Find products that fit with the way you live. Besides Fairy Skin and Shiro, I also like Poly Beauty Tinted Sunscreen.

It's the time of year when we eat too much of all the food groups and treats we try to avoid the rest of the year (which, for me, just makes me want them more, even though I have GERD and can't eat a lot of things). Unfortunately for us, our skin doesn't love cakes, chocolate, cheese, coffee and alcoholic beverages as much as we do. So, if your skin isn't happy with the food you've been eating and is starting to look a little worse for wear, keep reading for tips on how to cheer it up and get it back to normal after the holidays.
We are, unfortunately, what we eat, so before you go crazy with detoxifying skin care products after a month of nonstop holiday indulgence, try cutting back on your diet a bit. Your skin will reward you if you make an effort to make your dishes look more colorful than neutral beige.
GO BACK TO (THE) BASIC
If you've been eating a lot of sweets, which, let's be honest, is quite impossible to resist during the holiday season—we're not judging—it's probably the reason why your skin is looking a little reddened and puffy. Antioxidants, which are commonly included in skincare products, have the potential to calm irritated skin and bring it back to its usual appearance in a relatively short amount of time. The use of skincare products containing aloe vera, vitamin E, or green tea will be effective. These are all ingredients that are high in antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory properties, which will help reduce the appearance of puffiness. They are available in a wide variety of forms.
I find that drinking juice made from fruits and vegetables is the most effective way for me to cleanse my body. However, because I have GERD, tomatoes are not on my list of acceptable food to eat.
It's important to replenish lost fluids after the holiday celebrations because overnights, alcohol beverages, and cold temperatures may all be drying to the skin. The hydrating serums in sheet masks establish a barrier over the skin, locking in moisture and making the mask an effective hydrator. High amounts of sugar consumption hasten the glycation process, which is just a fancy phrase for the breakdown of collagen in the skin, so a collagen-boosting mask wouldn't hurt!
In addition, it's important to replenish by drinking eight glasses of water.
And for my final suggestion, have your own at-home facial massage.
Spend 10 to 15 minutes massaging your face in an upward motion with an oil or cleansing balm to remove toxins and stimulate the lymphatic system.

I really have the hardest time in putting false lashes, that's one of my irksome shame in makeup. I've done lash extensions and lash lifts, but as for the false lash strips, my skill level is just there. Looking back on how Filipinos proved to be the guiding light in time of COVID and what’s next for a community rebuilding the society through helping each other.
#BeTheLight

This envisioned to champion togetherness with everyone, either by group or individual, to be the beacons of light in these trying times.
#BeTheLight campaign supported the good causes of several individuals and organizations through donation.
Chosen individuals are as follows:
- Marielle Solomon of Siargao Community Kitchen which aided more than 4,000 families in their community and neighboring barangays
- Barangay Holy Spirit PWD Association’s president Sarah dela Rosa whose efforts were recognized even outside their area.
- Pia Alviola of Project Love who was able to donate more than 2,000 protective equipment to frontliners.
- Melissa Olit of Aiza’s Community Kitchen reached more than 15,000 beneficiaries.
- Angela Lapinosa’s team for RiceAboveCovid, were able to provide more than 300 help packages.
SkinWhite also reached out to several organizations to work together to #BeTheLight to more people across the country. These organizations were Save San Roque Alliance, an organization that provided meals to families in Sitio San Roque, North Triangle, Quezon City, #SilogForACause, a group who prepared silog meals for frontliners and volunteers, Tulong Kabataan Volunteer Network, bikers turned donors of Life Cycles PH, FoodTray2Go, Act as One PH, Juan Spark Youth Leaders, and Project PEARLS (Peace, Education, Aspiration, Respect, Love, and Smiles) who have put smiles on children’s faces amidst the pandemic and the discomfort caused by the enforced quarantine. SkinWhite amplified their efforts by sharing their stories nationwide through social media with the hope that many people will be inspired to join in their causes.
Aside from individuals and organizations, the light also transcended to SkinWhite’s trade partners. The brand’s display rental fees were converted to augment the needs of each of the participating store’s dedicated frontliner employees. I really don't have a skincare routine. I just wash my whole body in the shower and applied moisturizer and sunscreen all over my face and body before going out. But now I'm kicking myself, like at age 18 I should have started it!

For the rest of us, well it's easy to be amazed with excitement. Maybe that product really worked for someone else. Honestly, I haven't use all THE CELLIN product yet, but the one they gave us during the launch really have a great impact to me as a consumer, especially the DENTAL CARE TOOTHPASTE.

There so many variety of face masks out there, but always be careful to choose the types that tailor to your specific needs.

What I like about this product is it can be use as a facial scrub and at the same time a facial mask. So there's no need to start stressing yourself out about the specifics. Besides, we all know how stress affect our skin!
You know the beauty ritual if you want your skin to be healthy and glowing. And as I said, going to spa or esthetician for a professional facial can be expensive. Fortunately, you can get the same benefits and results by exfoliating, steaming and facial mask at home using VCE Premium Products.
First, it's important to start with a clean face before exfoliate. Make sure you wash your face with a warm water and massage a cleanser that fits your skin type. Then rinse with lukewarm water.
Then just pat your face with a clean towel, but not necessarily to make it dry.
Apply ABSORB as a facial scrub, just put a small amount of water and gently rub it over your face. Massage it into your skin in upward circular motions for about 15-30 seconds. Pay attention to areas where the skin is especially rough, dry, or prone to clogged pores.
