The global MISS UNIVERSE® beauty pageant will be held for the first time in its history in Israel. The city of Eilat was chosen to be the host city of the competition, which will mark its 70th anniversary this year. 
Delegations from about 100 countries are expected to attend the pageant in Israel, including more than 1,200 members of official delegations, hundreds of journalists and TV crews, thousands of pageant enthusiasts and tourists, more than 100 American celebrities, including top-tier artists and world-famous judges. Every year, the event is widely covered in the media and it will add Israel to the map of countries that have previously hosted the prestigious pageant.

Here in the Philippines, Miss Universe Rabiya Mateo is crowning her successor on September 25. MISS UNIVERSE PHILIPPINES (MUP) organization already announced last Monday, July 19 their Top 100 delegates for its 2021 edition.

“We in Israel are delighted to host the 70th anniversary celebrations of the iconic Miss Universe pageant. Israel is a beautiful land of creativity and innovation and we have successfully faced the COVID-19 crisis head on. Therefore, today we are among the first countries to host an international event – the unifying Miss Universe.
Israeli producer Tali Eshkoli and Los Angeles-based producer Assaf Blecher are responsible for bringing the Miss Universe pageant to Israel, which will be run by the Miss Universe organization in cooperation with the Israeli Ministry of Tourism and the Eilat Municipality. From the end of November, competition contestants will arrive in Israel for three weeks of TV events, broadcast live around the world. These include the semi-final and final events, the national costume show, and other gala events such as the red-carpet event, events in the community, charity events and more. The 70th Miss Universe Competition will once again be hosted by legendary entertainer Steve Harvey.

The Philippines was already crowned four Filipina Miss Universe, Gloria Diaz in 1969, Margie Moran in 1973, Pia Wurtzbach in 2015 and Catriona Gray in 2018.

When you're invited to a pageant, like GAY Beauty Pageant, the first notion is more of a display of wit and spectacle. It may be a harsh platform sometimes because they are judged by its sexual preference, but not in the aspects as human - their talents and character.
Davao City - December 9, 2019. A gathering of gays ages 30+ competing for the search of Ms. Gay Legendary 2019 organized by the management of Index Hair & Beauty Salon during their Annual Christmas Party held at the CAP Auditorium.
Competition of different Index Salon branches where each branch representative will be judged based on different categories: PRODUCTION NUMBER, NATIONAL COSTUME, TALENT PORTION, LONG GOWN, and Q&A.
Gay Pageant has been here in the Philippines since the 1970s. Contestants come from different backgrounds and professions with ages ranging from a very young age fourteen to more than sixty years old gathered to compete the crown.
Last year Index Hair & Beauty Salon had their Gay Pageant, but it's a competition of young gays, aged between 18 to 29 years old. This year, they want to honour their senior's colleague which they admire and respect.

collaboration of beauty products from Ever Bilena, along with its sister brands EB Advance, Careline, and Blackwater held its first ever EB Beauty Fiesta in Cebu & Davao.
In Davao, a gathering of beauties was held at Marco Polo with a theme contemporary ethnic. Social Media Influencers & Bloggers/Vloggers came in dressed in their best attire promoting self-care and self-love through a fiesta of charming beauties and handsome lad with a night of fun and laughter.
This event includes motivational and at the same time inspirational factors to all aspiring beauty product reviewers and users of Ever Bilena that we should be proud of. Now, we have local brands and products that make us hella proud to say "Yes, that's made in the Philippines."
The festive atmosphere started with a dancing majorettes accompanied with a band and a venue decorated with banderitas.
They also have a sari-sari store full of EB beauty products, wherein we need to choose the look we like to achieve that night.
Crowd Favorite! Why I choose this look? It suits my age. Thinking of an old Hollywood Glam era, sleek hairstyles -- the deep waves but classy in terms of makeups. Very simple and a bit of sexienes.
I'm in my 40s but talking about makeup it's more of a good habits and right discipline. The only advice I can give to my young & millennial readers is NEVER SLEEP WITH YOUR MAKEUP ON and NOT TO BE SWAYED BY OVERHYPED TRENDS. Always stick what looks good on you.

I was invited to an afternoon of succulent potting, "SAY IT WITH SUCCULENTS" a jointly organized pop-up shop by Botanophilic Davao and Trust Home Depot.
For those asking, what is succulent? It is sometimes called a water storage plants. Plants that not only cool, unique and lasting gift for mom on Mother's Day, it's affordable, simple to transport, and easy to care for.
Even #DDIMoms got to try on how to plant a succulent plants with the help of Cheza (the young entrepreneur) who started growing plants as a hobby and now a full-pledge online seller of succulent and ornamental plants.

After the controversies about the cancellation of Miss Universe Davao Fashion Show , the tourism officials decided to push through the event after the meeting they have with the Davao Fashion and Design Council Foundation, Inc, (DFDCFI) and added Davao City to their list as part of the ancillary activities of the Miss Universe 2016.
This will give candidates a peek into a least-known aspect of the Philippine culture. An enhancing appreciation of the totality of the Philippines' rich cultural heritage, and not to forget that the reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach is from Cagayan de Oro City (Northern Mindanao).
Showcasing what Mindanao can offer to its visitors, the affluent culture, beauty and tradition - not with the media portrayed Mindanao that is ridden in strife and conflict.

It features proud Mindanao tribeswomen whose weaving tradition dates back hundreds of years ago, and now given the attention they deserve. The intricate and creative pattern comes in their dreams, they cannot create a design if they haven't dreamed of it - thus, sometimes they are called the "DREAM WEAVERS".
The traditional cloth made by these tribeswomen shall be turned into contemporary dressing, in a unique show of beauty and culture called " MINDANAO TAPESTRY: The Neo-Ethnic Fashion of Renee Salud and the Mindanao Weavers".
I have posted the other day that there are only 18 candidates would visit Davao, but the Miss Universe organization decided to add 11 more candidates - and that makes 29 Miss Universe candidates wearing the Mindanao inspired dresses.
