Last December 14, I had the privilege of attending Fashion Exhibition 2025: Creativity Matters, a meaningful fashion show for a cause in Davao City held at Felcris Centrale. I was invited to the event as my page, Anything About Davao, was chosen as one of the official social media influencer partners—an opportunity I truly appreciate and value.
As someone who loves fashion not only for its beauty but for the stories it tells, this event felt deeply personal. It reminded me that creativity becomes even more powerful when it is used to uplift others—this time, in support of Davao’s hardworking street sweepers.
Organized by Icon Elites Artist Management and led by creative director Pau Garcia, the show went beyond aesthetics. It carried a clear and heartfelt message: fashion can be both stylish and socially responsible.

What truly set Fashion Exhibition 2025 apart was its advocacy. The event was dedicated to Davao’s street sweepers—the unsung heroes who keep our city clean every single day. Watching a fashion show rooted in gratitude and respect made the experience even more meaningful, especially knowing that creativity was being used to give back to the community.
Throughout the night, I felt that this was more than a runway event. It was a reminder that fashion has the power to give back, to acknowledge lives that are often overlooked, and to turn creativity into compassion.

Rey Calajate’s Designs: Where Art Meets Wearability
The highlight of the evening was the stunning collection by fashion designer Rey Calajate. His designs immediately caught my attention—bold yet elegant, artistic yet wearable. Each piece showcased thoughtful construction, strong silhouettes, and details that reflected both confidence and creativity.
As the models walked the runway, it was clear that Rey Calajate’s work tells a story. The collection felt empowering, modern, and expressive without feeling distant. These were designs that celebrated individuality while remaining grounded in real-life fashion.
For me, this collection proved that local fashion designers continue to raise the bar with originality and craftsmanship.
The Runway Experience at Felcris Centrale
The choice of Felcris Centrale as the venue perfectly complemented the event. Its modern, open space created an intimate yet elevated atmosphere for the runway show. Surrounded by fellow creatives, fashion enthusiasts, and advocates—including members of the local media—the energy in the room felt warm and inspiring.
Every applause felt intentional—not just for the models or the designs, but for the cause behind the show. It was one of those events where you feel proud just to be present.

Attending Fashion Exhibition 2025: Creativity Matters reinforced why I continue to support and cover local fashion events in Davao through Anything About Davao. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by a serene and welcoming atmosphere. The interior of Hanami Beauty Bar is beautifully designed, with soft lighting, elegant decor, and a soothing color palette that immediately puts you at ease. The staff were warm and friendly, making me feel right at home.
Pampering Services
During my visit, I chose to experience their soft gel nail extensions, regular pedicure, and lash extensions. Each service exceeded my expectations and left me feeling wonderfully pampered.
Soft Gel Nail Extensions: The nail technician was meticulous and skilled, ensuring that each nail was perfectly shaped and polished. The soft gel extensions looked natural and elegant, providing a chic upgrade to my usual manicure.

Regular Pedicure: The pedicure was a delightful treat, with flawless cleaning and polish application. It was the perfect way to refresh and pamper my tired feet. You can also try their Special Foot Spa for only P300—an ideal gift for Father’s Day!
Lash Extensions: The lash extension service was truly transformative. The technician carefully applied each lash, creating a full and natural look that enhanced my eyes beautifully. The lashes were lightweight and comfortable, giving me a glamorous yet effortless appearance.

I won't compare my experience with other beauty lounges that offer lash extensions, but I can confidently say that Hanami is more affordable while still using high-quality materials. Despite the lower price, the standard of their materials matches that of more expensive salons.

Ms. Caren shared her vision for the beauty bar, emphasizing her commitment to providing high-quality services and creating a relaxing environment for her clients.
Ms. Caren is not just a typical business owner. Hanami Beauty Bar is her new baby, deserving of all the attention. In addition to this, she successfully manages two other businesses that are widely embraced by Dabawenyos: Turf Grass Davao and Clean-it. Her dedication and entrepreneurial spirit continue to bring exceptional services to our community.

My visit to Hanami Beauty Bar was a memorable experience that left me feeling rejuvenated and pampered. The combination of top-notch services, a serene environment, and the opportunity to meet the wonderful Ms. Caren made it a standout experience. I left feeling not only more beautiful on the outside but also more relaxed and refreshed on the inside.

Davao City's Lady Boss Aesthetic and Wellness Center was founded in 2018 by Florame "Mheckai" Bayer and her husband, Francis L. Bayer, under the name Lady Boss Lounge. It reopened under its current moniker in February of 2020 after undergoing a rebranding process. There are currently two locations, one each in Davao and Tagum.
It is not simply a center for health and beauty, but also an establishment that supports women's empowerment and self-care. They centered their most important core beliefs on the concept of providing opportunity to underprivileged and marginalized women. By providing opportunities for employment and training, we can increase the likelihood that these individuals will become contributing members of society.
In the Lady Boss Academy of Aesthetics, ladies can learn the skills necessary to become Certified Aestheticians as well as Certified PhilBeautQ SPMU Artists. At the moment, Lady Boss has more than fifty staff members working across all of their locations. And the vast majority of them are single parents and beneficiaries of the 4Ps program who are receiving employment training through the Lady Boss program.
The knowledge and experience they have gained will make them stronger and more independent. And by this, Lady Boss promises that every customer will receive first-rate assistance from their staff, as well as cutting-edge techniques and products for their aesthetic needs.

On October 20, 2022, I was asked to attend the opening of the House of Laurel's first pop-up store in Dusit D2 Davao.
Featuring the Miró Holiday Collection as well as exquisite items by Tani, a renowned Korean jewelry designer, The store opened to the public on the 21st and 22nd of October at the Lumpini Jr. Ballroom in Dusit D2 in the presence of notable individuals from Visayas and Mindanao.

Ms. Jessa Macaraig is one of the leading cosmetic and dermatologists in the nation, and she has thrived despite the pandemic. This successful businesswoman, mother, and friend who is also a well-known Tiktoker has a lot to teach you about many topics, including her faith and her rapidly expanding beauty enterprise. She worked for a pharmaceutical company as a Medical Representative when she first became interested in beauty and leading a healthy lifestyle. She started young and is growing her empire through a variety of businesses and side gigs so that she can support her younger siblings financially. In addition to her experience in other fields, she has also held positions as both a Financial Advisor and a Businesswoman in the Plastic Manufacturing industry.
She entered the beauty and health profession because she had a strong interest in skin care and aesthetics, as well as a strong desire to treat and find solutions for the issues that other people had with their skin. It's possible that things won't be easy for her journey. The Pretty You Aesthetics is currently making future plans. Jessa Macaraig gained business from friends, coworkers, and investors. She wanted 20 branches open this year. She wanted to open a clinic with an operating room. Most of her doctors and personnel are skilled in cosmetic procedures, ensuring safety and quality service.
The Pretty You Aesthetic Clinic is aware of the most recent technological advancements in the industry; consequently, the clinic can and will always deliver the most advanced and effective technology for treatments.

last July 28, I was invited to the Blessings & Soft Opening of their Ecoland Davao branch.
I went early to determine the precise location of their clinic because I am aware that the address listed on Google Maps is not accurate, and I was correct! (Please disregard the PIN listed on the Google Map). The exact location is to look for the CMS-Asia (Center For Musculoskeletal Science-Asia) located at 292 6th-B Street, Ecoland Subdivision, Phase 1. Simply enter HOME CREST 6th Street Road then beside to Sto. Niño Chapel.
First off the place is huge! I was quite impressed with the facility's cleanliness and adherence to strict hygiene regulations to prevent the spread of virus, such as the requirements to wear a face mask and disinfect your hands before entering.
There is also a coffee shop where you may order food and beverages.
When I went inside The Pretty You Aesthetic Clinic, I am filled with astonishment. I adore the atmosphere. It doesn't look like a clinic at all; rather, you appear to be in a posh hotel, just chilling out.
After the blessings and soft opening, a snack finger buffet was provided to all of the guests and clients.
Ms. Jessa told us during our conversation that she would love to do business in Davao City since it is safe and she adores Duterte.
Jessa Macaraig's business and aims may be innovative and challenging. She bases her business decisions on her religious values. During our interview, Jessa expressed gratitude for God's blessings. Despite many obstacles, she remained steadfast in her Christian faith. Jessa will continue to soar high with her family, friends, and clients by her side.
