If you’re searching for an affordable Korean skincare brand in the Philippines, you’ve probably come across Hello Glow. Known for its lightweight formulas, non-greasy finish, and effective results, this product has become a favorite for many skincare lovers—including me!

I’ve been using two of their bestsellers for almost a year now, and I keep repurchasing because they truly work. In this review, I’ll share my honest experience with the Hello Glow 3-in-1 Lightweight Sun Care Gel and the Hello Glow 3-in-1 Anti-Aging Retinol Serum.

Hello Glow 3-in-1 Lightweight Sun Care Gel (SPF 50+ PA++++) Review

When it comes to the best Korean sunscreen in the Philippines, I can confidently say that Hello Glow’s 3-in-1 Lightweight Sun Care Gel deserves a spot on the list.

Key Benefits:

  • Very lightweight sunscreen—feels like nothing on the skin

  • Acts as a moisturizer and primer (smooth finish)

  • Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB Protection (UVA = aging, UVB = sunburn)

  • No greasy or sticky feeling—perfect for humid weather in the Philippines

👉 How to use: Apply on face and neck at least 30 minutes before sun exposure. Works great under makeup too!

🧳 Bonus Point: I love the sleek travel-friendly packaging. It’s not messy, no bulkiness, and easy to carry around—perfect for someone who’s always on the go.

Hello Glow 3-in-1 Anti-Aging Retinol Serum Review

At night, I switch to the Hello Glow 3-in-1 Anti-Aging Retinol Serum. Retinol is known as a powerhouse ingredient, and this serum makes it beginner-friendly.

Key Benefits:

  • Rejuvenates skin overnight

  • Hydrates and brightens for a fresh look in the morning

  • Gentle enough to use every other night—no irritation for me

  • Helps with early signs of aging like dullness and fine lines

👉 How to use: Apply a thin layer on cleansed face every other night. Don’t forget to use sunscreen the next day since retinol can make your skin sun-sensitive.

Why I Keep Buying Hello Glow Products

Here’s why Hello Glow has a permanent place in my skincare routine:

  • Lightweight and non-greasy (perfect for humid climates)

  • Travel-friendly packaging that’s not messy or bulky

  • Affordable Korean skincare brand that actually works

  • Gives me protection by day and rejuvenation by night

Is Hello Glow Worth It?

Absolutely yes. If you’re looking for affordable Korean skincare in the Philippines, Hello Glow delivers what it promises. The Sun Care Gel protects and moisturizes, while the Retinol Serum hydrates, brightens, and rejuvenates.

🌸 Lightweight. Effective. Skin-friendly. Travel-friendly. Hello Glow truly helps you glow every day.

Whether you’re a skincare beginner or someone building a full routine, Hello Glow is worth adding to your lineup.

Online shopping on TikTok Shop can be exciting — you see a product, it looks promising, you add it to your cart, and before you know it, you’re waiting for the delivery. But sometimes, that excitement can turn into disappointment if we overlook certain product details. That’s exactly what happened to me recently with the Born Pretty 6-in-1 Nail Glue for nail tips.

The Disappointment 😞

I bought the Born Pretty nail glue expecting it to be like my previous nail glue purchase from another brand — easy to use, no extra tools needed. But when I opened it, I found out that this 6-in-1 nail glue requires a UV/LED lamp to cure and must be soaked off for removal.

Unfortunately, I didn’t realize this before buying it. The product description likely mentioned it somewhere, but it wasn’t highlighted enough for me to notice.

Why This Matters for Nail Enthusiasts

Not everyone who loves doing DIY nails at home owns a UV nail lamp or LED nail lamp. If you don’t already have one, buying additional equipment just to use nail glue may not be practical. In my case, I ended up with a product I couldn’t use — a waste of money and excitement.

Tips Before You Buy Nail Glue Online

If you’re planning to buy nail glue — whether it’s Born Pretty nail glue or any other brand — here are some tips to avoid disappointment:

1. Check if the nail glue says “No UV Needed” or “Air Dry” if you want something quick and easy.

2. Look for keywords like “UV/LED cured” in the description so you’ll know in advance if it needs curing.

3. Read reviews from other TikTok Shop buyers to see their experiences.

4. Ask the seller directly if the listing is unclear.

I’m not saying the Born Pretty 6-in-1 Nail Glue is a bad product. In fact, many nail professionals and enthusiasts love it for its versatility. But it’s not the right match for those who want a simple, no-lamp-needed nail glue.

So before you hit “Add to Cart” on TikTok Shop, make sure to read the product details carefully. The right nail glue can make your DIY manicure experience fun — but the wrong one can leave you frustrated.

Nail fungus can be frustrating, stubborn, and honestly… a little embarrassing. I’ve dealt with it for a while, trying various over-the-counter treatments with little to no success. That was until I stumbled upon a DIY remedy that surprisingly worked for me: a simple mix of mouthwash and chopped ginger.

I wasn't expecting a miracle, but after just two months of consistent use, I saw real results—my nail fungus was gone.

My DIY Mix: What I Used

Antiseptic mouthwash (I used one with ingredients like thymol, eucalyptol, and menthol)

Fresh chopped ginger

I would soak my affected nails in this mixture once a day for about 15-20 minutes. Sometimes I’d rub the ginger directly onto the nail bed while soaking for an extra boost.

What I Noticed

* Within the first few weeks, the discoloration began to fade.

* After about a month, my nail started looking healthier.

* By two months, the fungus had disappeared, and healthy nail growth had returned.

Why I Think It Worked

Mouthwash has antiseptic and antifungal properties, while ginger is known for its anti-inflammatory and natural antimicrobial effects. Together, they created a solution that seemed to fight the infection effectively—at least for me.

A Word of Caution

Disclaimer:

This blog post is based on my personal experience and is not medical advice. Nail fungus can range in severity, and while this remedy worked for me, it might not work for everyone. Always consult a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and treatment, especially if the infection is painful, persistent, or worsening.

If you're struggling with nail fungus and looking for a natural remedy to try, this could be a gentle, low-cost option. Just remember—consistency and patience are key.

Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried something similar or have other remedies that worked for you!

Who says skirts are only for women?

In the vibrant and ever-evolving world of fashion, Filipino youth are breaking boundaries—this time with skirts. From knee-length to ankle-grazing, long skirts are becoming a bold fashion statement for men. While kilts—a traditional garment from Scotland—often steal the spotlight in Western fashion discussions, here in the Philippines, it’s long, flowy skirts that are redefining men’s street style.

Skirt vs. Kilt: What’s the Difference?

To better understand this trend, it’s important to distinguish between a skirt and a kilt:

Kilt: Traditionally worn by Scottish men, a kilt is a knee-length pleated garment made from tartan (plaid) fabric. It has a specific cultural and historical significance and is usually associated with Scottish heritage.

Skirt: A more general term that refers to any lower-body garment that hangs from the waist and is not divided into legs. Skirts can vary in length, style, and fabric—and they are what most Filipino men are now embracing as part of modern fashion.

Here in the Philippines, long skirts—often plain, flowy, or pleated—are the trend among the youth. These aren’t necessarily cultural items like kilts, but rather fashion-forward pieces used to express individuality, style, and sometimes a social message.

Breaking Stereotypes

In a traditionally conservative country, seeing men in long skirts can still raise eyebrows. But for many, it’s not about challenging gender roles or questioning sexuality—it’s about freedom and expression. A common sentiment among wearers: “I’m straight, but I love how skirts make me feel. It's fashion—simple as that.”

This bold style move is gaining momentum among Gen Z, who are known for pushing the envelope when it comes to fashion, identity, and equality.

Their message is clear: fashion is freedom. And in that freedom lies creativity, confidence, and authenticity.

Street Style Spotting

During recent local events and online fashion content, kilts have appeared more frequently, styled with sneakers, oversized shirts, boots, or even barong-inspired tops. It’s the perfect blend of modern edge and cultural remix, making kilts uniquely Filipino in spirit.

The Influence of Kiel the Great

One of the most notable figures who helped spark this trend is Kiel the Great, a local personality whose viral Facebook post showed him confidently wearing a long skirt in public. His bold move quickly gained attention and inspired many young Filipinos to follow suit. The trend gained even more momentum through TikTok, where stylish videos of boys wearing skirts for fun—and fashion—began appearing across the platform.

What started as a single statement look is now a movement, encouraging men to redefine style norms.

“I saw this trend from a Korean idol, then I noticed Western influencers doing it too. Why not bring it here? It’s stylish, comfortable, and a statement,” shares Jigs, 22, a young stylist based in Pangasinan.

Rafael Romano on Expanding Fashion Narratives

I had the opportunity to interview (via chat) a Davao-based content creator and fashion stylist, Rafael Romano. Who has been a visible voice in promoting fashion freedom in Mindanao. When asked about the rising trend of men wearing skirts, he shared:

And yes, I agree with Rafael statement,  that we need to be more open-minded. Fashion is not confined to gender. Skirts are not just for girls anymore—they're for everyone who dares to express themselves. And it isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about equality, acceptance, and the courage to challenge old norms.

What we're seeing now is a shift in perspective. More men are exploring clothing beyond binaries. And that's a good thing. It's not about being feminine or masculine—it’s about embracing who you are, and being confident in how you present yourself.

Romano also highlighted that Davao’s fashion scene has always had pockets of boldness, but social media helped amplify that creativity to a wider audience.
